Of all Trump’s crazy, nonsensical ravings on Truth Social, his post about Davy Crockett and Jasmine Crockett gets my vote as the craziest and most nonsensical.

The post has to be seen to be believed. In fact, we had to check twice even after seeing it, just to be sure.

Trump: "Davy Crockett, obviously a distant relative of Jasmine Crockett, and a very High IQ Frontiersman, would be proud of the legacy that he began long ago, and especially Jasmine’s Great Success as a Politician from the Great State of Texas! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

WTAF is he talking about? For one thing, there is the obvious fact that the congresswoman from Texas is Black and that Davy Crockett was white. Then there’s the fact that the image the 79-year-old Trump posted was not an actual photo of the famous frontiersman but the actor Fess Parker playing Daniel Boone.

For some inexplicable reason, Trump also included Parker’s rendition of The Ballad of Davy Crockett to go with his post.

But the most inexplicable thing of all is Trump’s adulation of Congresswoman Crockett as having “Great Success as a Politician.” When she announced her entrance into the Texas Senate race, in December, he called her “a low-IQ person” and “a gift to Republicans.” Far from being the great political figure he now calls her, he said then, “I can’t even believe she’s a politician, actually.”

Has he had a drastic change of heart about Rep. Crockett? Mixed her up with some other politician? Decided that her distant relative Davy makes up for all the failings he once saw? Did he forget that yesterday was April Fool’s Day? Or maybe - and this gets my vote - Trump has lost his last marble.

And did I mention how crazy it is that in the middle of a war and an economic crisis our president is focused on – well, who knows?

Rep. Crockett has responded:

The President is clearly already missing me as many others will… but, lucky for you, Sir, I’m in the seat until January and have no plans of taking my foot off the gas on behalf of the American people 🥰.

I wonder if this has anything to do with my questioning of Pam Bondi????!!!

Bluesky is having a good laugh at Trump’s expense, too:

Sonny Crockett, obviously a distant relative of Jasmine Crockett, and a very High IQ and stylish police officer, would be proud of the legacy that he began long ago, and especially Jasmine’s Great Success in Supporting the rule of law in a state that the Republicans won in 2024!

My condolences to Jasmine Crockett for losing her heart ancestor to the ruthless attack from Santa Claus on the Alamo.

If Davy Crockett, slave owner, was related to Jasmine Crockett, black woman, how would that have happened?

Someone please, please ask Leavitt this. Please.

Could he pick Jasmine Crockett out of a lineup?

I mean, I know he couldn't do that with WNBA players (besides CC, perhaps), notwithstanding his relentless support of women's sports. (Tongue planted so deep into cheek that it is drawing blood.)

How about Members of Congress? Could he pull that off?

There is no documented genealogical connection between Davy Crockett and Jasmine Crockett. Jasmine Crockett was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Rev. Joseph Crockett and Gwen Crockett, with no verified family ties to Davy Crockett's Tennessee lineage, and she has never claimed such a relationship.
