Televangelist Paula White-Cain is one of the most over-the-top cultists in Trump's orbit. On Wednesday, she degraded herself and people who call themselves Christians by comparing Donald Trump to Jesus at a White House event that hosted more than 100 evangelical and Catholic leaders at an Easter lunch, an event the administration billed as a celebration of "religious liberty."
It received so much pushback the White House deleted the event from their social media and the official White House website.
Was it the comparison to Jesus or was it Trump's declaration that the US can't pay for healthcare or daycare because we're paying for a war no one wanted?
The MAGA cult is mostly made up of Christian nationalists, formerly known as the Tea Party. They hate gays, minorities, migrants and the Democratic Party. Paula White-Cain leads the pack.
One of White's many indiscretions was to equate Trump's many immoral and criminal actions with the battles Jesus faced.
WHITE: Jesus taught us so many lessons through his death, burial, and resurrection.
He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice.
And Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price.
It almost cost you your life.
You were betrayed, and arrested, and falsely accused.
It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us.
White then compared Trump with rising from the dead just like Jesus, while celebrating Easter.
On the third day, he rose, he defeated evil. He conquered death, hell, and the grave.
And because he rose, we all know that we can rise. And sir, because of his resurrection, you rose up.
Because he was victorious, you were victorious.
Trump also called himself a "king" at the event which didn't sit too well with people.
