Donald Trump went on an insane rant about Canada as he signed an equally insane executive order renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America. He was so proud of himself, he called in reporters.
While he was at it, President Senile mused about changing the names of the two oceans that bookend the United States.
First, he patted himself on the back for changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
“If you think about it, we have a gulf we have a lake,” he continued. “Now, all we need is an ocean, so maybe we'll have to change the name of the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Maybe we'll change them both.”
Trump’s order “requires federal entities to recognize the change, but it does not have to be recognized by other countries,” The New York Times explained. You can best believe Canada never will. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has said her state won’t, The Times said.
Still, the order means even more federal money and efforts will be spent updating federal documents with the renaming, just to bolster Trump’s fragile vanity. Meanwhile Americans will continue to suffer from the higher prices he keeps causing.
Fortunately, Trump’s action was met with just the kind of mockery he deserves.
And I just renamed Lake Michigan Lake Wisconsin. See, I can sign napkins that say things, too. https://t.co/ZhhsuJlt3U pic.twitter.com/yrnvPuuC4t
