MyPillow guy Mike Lindell took his loss to Rep. Lisa Demuth, the speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, about as well as you'd expect. Lindell, a Trump-backed election denier, claimed there were irregularities. Irregularities in a Republican primary, you guys.
Lindell told the room to hold on for a new update, claiming his campaign had just picked up 5,000 votes out of the last 13,000 counted — and tried to spin that split (roughly 2,000 to him, 3,000 to Demuth) as evidence he could take the lead within the hour, calling it "big news" and guessing officials had started tallying Election Day votes.
When a reporter pushed back citing the AP's count, he dismissed the AP's credibility, noting there were still 265,000 votes outstanding and that he trailed by 18,000 — though he insisted the gap had just narrowed thanks to that 5,000-vote gain.
He refused to concede before all the votes were in, arguing there was no reason to call the race for himself to lose while ballots remained uncounted, then repeated that roughly 264,000 votes were still left from the last batch of 13,000.
Lindell has gone from claiming that Democrats rigged the 2020 election to claiming his party rigged the Republican primary. Mike needs to cry into his MyPillow in the corner of his room, in a fetal position while sucking his thumb.
