Former Border Patrol commander-at-large Greg Bovino just sat down for a new interview with Trump detractor Tucker Carlson, where he went full-fledged apocalyptic in his accusations against Donald Trump's inner circle, unabashedly claiming, "They want me dead."
"The administration didn't want you to have security?" Tucker asked Bovino in their sit-down. "Why?"
"I think to silence me," Bovino answered, pulling no punches from the very start. "Do I think they want me dead at this point? Yes."
And once Bovino got started, he did not stop.
"Do I think they want me killed? Absolutely," he raged. "The minute I left, security detail gets pulled. I'm one of the highest, if not the highest, threats in DHS. Death threats."
"Those Border Patrol agents refused to leave my house, and I had to direct order, hey, no, you're leaving, because I'm not in the Border Patrol anymore," he said before ominously adding, "We're going to shut that guy up."
When it came to placing blame, Bovino didn't hesitate to point the finger at Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott with border czar Tom Homan by his side.
"I think Rodney Scott — he's the one that took my security detail away, with Homan there. Yeah, absolutely," Bovino said, before going on to make it crystal clear that he doesn't think Donald Trump did it. In fact, he believes there's a full-force conspiracy going on behind closed doors to hide the "truth" from the President.
"I don't think Trump would," Bovino said of the notion of Trump's involvement in cutting his security and leaving him vulnerable. "I think if Trump knew what they had done and what they would do to Border Patrol agents or ICE officers or anyone that disagrees with them, I think he would have an absolute panic attack or a heart attack."
Speaking of the officials he claims are hiding the real truth from Donald Trump, Bovino said, "They're guarding the gate. You know, the surrender in Minnesota. People say, hey, Bovino, you retired. I did. I retired. That's neat, clean, and easy."
Bovino has publicly acknowledged that his sudden retirement was less than voluntary.
"If they want you gone — if those gate guards want you gone — better watch out. They'll come for your retirement. They'll come for everything," the former border chief told the former Fox News talking head.
"They're coming after other family members as well," Bovino added, claiming that the FBI had to intercept his mail.
Bovino was pulled from his high-profile position as border commander following the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both US citizens, in Minneapolis. He was sent packing back to his previous position as sector chief in El Centro, California. Soon thereafter, he retired completely from his decades-long Border Patrol career.
