Alex Berenson continues to be the Wrongest Man...this time it is the measles.
On June 11th he posted on Twitter: "Fun fact: NOT ONE PERSON IN THE US HAS DIED OF MEASLES IN 2026. Not one."
WELP, guess what, ALEX? Two people have died. From MEASLES. In Lancaster County, Pennsylania. So far. These are the first measles-related deaths this year and the first in the state in 35 years, NBC reports.
Lancaster County is home to the nation's largest and oldest Amish communities, so it is not surprising that they would be unvaccinated and most at risk. As of Tuesday there are 393 confirmed cases in the state, which almost 25% diagnosed in the past week. Of those, 70 people have been hospitalized with "complications", although it is not clear how many are children.
Officials have not disclosed if the two deaths are children, babies or pregnant women, although all three groups are particularly vulnerable to measles.
Trump and his insane Health Secretary, brain worm RFK Jr, are against vaccines (in most cases) and actually signed an executive order earlier in August limiting the recommended vaccines children are to receive and when.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro had a sharp statement :
“I was very, very blunt with him, and I made very clear that his actions and the rhetoric that’s coming from this administration are having a negative impact on communities across America, particularly right here in Pennsylvania. There’s real-life consequences to scaring people and not relying on actual doctors and actual medical professionals to provide unbiased information to parents.”
HHS and CDC put out a generic statement, saying: “CDC is working closely with state and local health departments to strengthen response efforts, rapidly support affected communities across the state, and communicate the steps people can take to slow the spread of measles."
Gosh, if only there was some sort of preventative measure that could have been taken by the community and if only the government agencies that prevent these types of illnesses from spreading had used their powerful platform to encourage these preventative, scientific based and proven methods to...you know...stop the deaths.
IF ONLY.
