If you liked the toilet paper shortage during COVID, you’re going to love Donald Trump’s latest ploy to raise the prices of just about everything we need.
The guy who promised to lower prices “on Day One” is about to add toilet paper to the list of necessities whose prices he has caused to soar.
Thanks to the spectacular failure of President “Deal Maker” to make any kind of deal with Canada and his efforts to bully that country into bowing to his childish petulance, the cost of toilet paper is slated to spike 25-50%, according to The Guardian. Ditto for facial tissues.
“Paper products are among the hardest-hit sectors” on Canada’s list of retaliatory tariffs set to start on September 8, The Guardian said.
“Though American toilet paper and tissues are often made domestically, they heavily rely on lumber-rich Canada for raw materials,” The Guardian noted. “Procter & Gamble, the owner of Charmin toilet paper, said last year that it would have to increase prices amid tariffs that were in place at the time.”
The worst president in American history keeps getting worser.
