What is there to say. David Shuster and I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Hunter Biden Wednesday. And wow, our interview lived up to everything we hoped and thought it could be. It turns out when Republicans went after Hunter Biden, they had no idea who they were messing with.
Hunter was equal parts thoughtful, gracious, forthcoming—on everything from his painting to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s obsession with his junk—and most importantly, he was real. He avoided no questions, gave honest answers even when it would’ve been easier to move on, and shared inconvenient truths.
Hoopla aside: we were talking to a son who loves his dad, suffered through enormous family tragedy and addiction, and had to navigate a world where ghouls used it all for political advantage. Yet he seems to have only come out stronger, at peace with his life, and ready, per his challenge on Amped Up, to take on Don Jr. in a UFC ring anytime Don’s clear-eyed (and brained) enough to do it.
So likely never.
MAGA made Hunter famous. They didn’t count on how talented, intelligent, and charismatic he is. They’ll be paying for that a long time. Watch the video for more on his father’s health, his art, recovery, disdain for corporate wh*re, Jake Tapper, and a feeling that for him, the best is yet to come.
