A new Reuters/Ipsos poll delivers some particularly grim news for Donald J. Trump: just 13% of Americans say they strongly approve of his performance, the lowest figure Aaron Blake says he has seen in a quality poll.

Even among Republicans, strong approval stands at only 35%—a potentially significant crack in what has traditionally been Trump's most reliable base of support.

The latest dismal numbers show that while some Republicans may still approve of Trump, far fewer appear to be expressing enthusiastic support. For a President who has long portrayed his backing as a firm political movement, 13% represents a rather sobering reality check.

We have a President who seems remarkably disconnected from the everyday monetary burdens facing Americans, while families continue struggling with rising costs. We have a President facing broad dissatisfaction over health care costs, yet his administration has not made genuinely affordable health care a central priority. Instead, the country remains involved in a costly and increasingly unpopular war with Iran. Reuters/Ipsos found that only 31% of Americans currently support U.S. military action against Iran, while 83% believe the conflict will continue for an extended period.

Housing costs remain a major problem, with Americans continuing to struggle with affordability.

And despite all of this, Trump still retains a core of intensely loyal supporters who have stood by him through virtually everything. But the latest polling raises an intriguing question: How much longer can that loyalty remain as solid as it once appeared?

The numbers don't necessarily mean the MAGA movement is collapsing—but they do suggest that some cracks may finally be appearing. It's about time.

And of course, Trump Natalie Harper will call this poll fake news.
