CBS News is reporting that a complaint was filed against Mike Lindell, a gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota, for allegedly violating Minnesota's Twinkie Law, which prohibits a candidate from giving away anything of value to persuade a person to vote for or against someone or something. The complaint said that Lindell and campaign staff were throwing pillows to the crowd at a Fourth of July parade. The complaint stated that the packaging of the pillows had "Mike Lindell for Governor" printed on them and were worth $35 each.

Lindell claims that the complaint is a baseless hit job and that the complainants confused his plain pillows for covered, decorative pillows. Lindell claims that the pillows he was giving away cost $4.90, which would be less than the allowable amount per state law. Lindell further stated that his attorneys went over every detail of the giveaway and that he was confident that he was not in violation of any law.

This complaint is not the only issue Lindell is facing. There are also concerns among Party leaders that Lindell might not pass the residency rule, which would disqualify him, even if he won the nomination.

Minnesota's primary is this coming Tuesday, August 11th.
