On Newsmax, Republican Scott Perry responded to the latest polling that shows only 31% of the US support the Iran war by claiming it's not Trump's fault for these numbers -- you gotta blame Iran.
Wait, I'm confused. Did Iran send in its bomber jets and destroyed Washington DC?
No? Right.
Wake UP America hosts asked Rep. Perry to comment on the horrific polling data.
"Yeah, look, it's nobody likes being at war," Perry said. "Unfortunately, you can't get your enemies to stop being your enemies."
Huh? Oh, he's glomming onto the Republican lie that the United States has been at war with Iran for 47 years.
"Nobody likes what's happening, which is why the president is trying to end it as quickly as possible without the loss of life," Perry said, with no irony in his voice. Trump has threatened Iran with genocide multiple times, but why get picky?
PERRY: But again, this isn't the president's fault.
It's not America's fault.
This is Iran's fault.
OMG. This is the most ridiculous answer I've heard so far. We about to hit the six month anniversary of Trump's very short, beautiful war against Iran, with no end in sight and this is the best this man on the Armed Services Committee can come up with?
It's Iran's fault for not surrendering after Trump and Netanyahu sneak attacked them, killing much of their leadership. But sure, it's Iran's fault. That's like saying the battered wife is at fault for her beating. Such typical Republican male thinking.
