On the heels of a terrible July jobs report, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was asked by CNBC how he is handling a struggling jobs market and, in a bizarre claim, said that the Trump administration doesn't need to produce as many jobs because of their massive deportations and a closed border.

This man is delusional.

Bessent makes the case that private enterprise and small businesses prioritize job creation only for migrants coming into the country, who are undocumented and wouldn't be counted as part of the workforce.

CNBC: But there are signs that the job market may be cracking a little bit; we got a weak job report last month. I'm curious about your assessment as to how much we can handle all of this.

BESSENT: Yeah, I think the jobs numbers are quite noisy and against --and another thing that's important, too, is like - the jobs that we're seeing are going to Americans after the Deportations that we've seen during President Trump's administration and the closing of the border that like that this unfettered migration we don't need to produce as many jobs

Bessent says economic growth is just around the corner, but you can't grow the economy without increasing the workforce.

It's not fucking rocket science.

Bessent is a serial liar.
