According to long-time, infamous Trump biographer Michael Wolff, the President is caught in the crossfire of a secret power play between his 56-year-old wife and his 35-year-old blonde, obsessive assistant.
White House aide Natalie Harp has been the subject of many a recent media cycle, as the young woman appears to be all but physically attached to Donald Trump's hip, quite literally appearing right alongside him everywhere he goes -- a stark contrast to his wife, who has been notably absent from his entire second term.
A recent analysis from The Daily Beast confirmed what everyone already knew: the first lady's public appearances have taken a sharp nosedive since her husband managed to secure himself another 4 years in the White House. According to their findings, Melania Trump was seen in public only 47 times in 2025, just after her husband's inauguration, and only 38 times in the first 7 months of 2026.
According to Wolff, Melania is giving her husband a wide berth because she has no interest in clinging to one side of Donald's body while Harp hangs off the other.
Wolff's analysis came in a new post on his Substack, Howl, where he wrote that Harp's "central presence" in every facet of the President's life has served as the driving force behind Melania's absence, hailing all the way back to Donald's 2024 presidential campaign trail.
"Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around," the infamous Trump biographer writes. "Since Harp was always around, Melania never was—appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign."
Harp, for her part, went to absolutely insane, extraordinary lengths to ensure that she ultimately ended up exactly where she is now.
Recent reports have revealed that Harp went so far as to sleep in the maids' quarters and then a women's locker room when Donald moved his campaign operations from Palm Beach to his Bedminster golf club, and Natalie wasn't given a proper room.
In their book, Regime Change, New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan claim that during her days of calling a locker room home, Harp was penning a string of unsettling love letters to Trump that she would leave all around his "personal spaces."
One of the letters allegedly read, "You are all that matters to me."
According to Wolff, Harp was an obsessed woman on a mission, as he wrote, "Harp superseded the White House staff and, as well, his wife and family. Nobody got between Harp and Trump. And you only got to Trump by going through Harp.”
As the connection between Harp and Trump deepened, his relationship with his wife crumbled further until, ultimately, Melania refused to even move into the White House with her husband, tucking tail back to New York instead.
Wolff, who's currently battling the first lady in court, wrote, "Other than at ceremonial occasions, or in a strictly official capacity, she has given up the role of wife. Practically speaking, there is no room for her."
He goes on to note that no one in the Trump White House really suspects a sexual relationship between the President and his blonde lapdog aides. Still, it's nevertheless clear as crystal that Harp is hopelessly in love with the president and bound and determined to become his "higher purpose bride."
One Trump aide spoke with Wolff and described it as "a Christian devotional relationship."
White House spokesman David Ingle responded to Wolff's claims: "Michael Wolff is a professional scumbag and serial liar with shit for brains."
