President Donald Trump is clearly struggling to get past this Reflecting Pool ordeal after Jeanine Pirro all but spat in his face over it.
In a new Truth Social meltdown over the weekend, Trump went full-blown crazy man in a wall of text that rivals War and Peace, claiming that a "highly credible witness" saw ex-Olympian David Hearn "violently" vandalizing his controversial and, frankly, disgusting Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, accusing Hearn of doing so on behalf of ActBlue, a Democratic PAC.
This hair-brained claim comes just days after former Fox News talking head Jeanine Pirro, whom Trump installed as the United States attorney for the District of Columbia in his second term, formally dropped the federal case against Hearn after her office determined that the damage to the pool was a direct result of shoddy contracting, not the guy who picked up a floating chunk of paint.
In his long-winded Truth Social rant, Trump wrote: "ALERT: A National Park Service career employee, a highly credible witness, saw David Hearn (ActBlue) in broad daylight vandalize the Reflecting Pool by ‘violently’ ripping and tugging at the Pool’s somewhat delicate coating."
"The National Park Service employee provided this witness testimony to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in early July, as seen below. Numerous other events took place, including using an acid like material on the just installed grass adjoining the Pool. On it were written the letters, '86 47,' a phrase probably gotten from James Comey."
Surprisingly, he did cop to "some contractor error," but was sure to make it clear that those areas only affected a "small area," and basically everything else was Hearn's fault: "There was substantial other damage to the Reflecting Pool, also but, unfortunately, there is no video or proof, other than the damage, itself. We are working on the Pool, and it will reopen shortly. As with many jobs, there was also some contractor error done by rushing the job for a July 4th opening, but it was a very small area of this massive Pool and was relatively inconsequential. Security cameras have been, and are being, installed. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
Norman Eisen, Hearn's attorney, posted photos of the formal dismissal to his X account, showing that U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro admitted that her federal case against the ex-Olympian was based solely on claims from the Interior Department that "the damage was caused entirely by vandals, including [Hearn]." Pirro claims that, following Hearn's formal indictment, the Interior Department then "provided additional documents" that revealed, "the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism as initially represented by DOI."

Trump was absolutely enraged by Pirro's actions, stating that she "choked" and "folded like an umbrella." Multiple inside sources and reports have confirmed that the President has repeatedly chastised Pirro in private phone calls and meetings as her job now hangs in the balance.
In what I am certain was an effort to appease Donald Trump the best she could, Pirro filed her dismissal "without prejudice," leaving the door open to bring charges against Hearn again in the future over the same incident. In an effort to squash that ridiculous possibility, Eisen has already filed a 28-page motion with the court seeking to make the dismissal permanent.
