The President has once again inadvertently exposed his own pathetic insecurities in a new Truth Social post full of AI slop, declaring himself superior to George W. Bush and arbitrarily proclaiming "Mission Accomplished" about something that happened six months ago.

Trump launched his war with Iran on February 28 of this year, in cahoots with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had lobbied him on the idea in a hush-hush White House Situation Room meeting just a month earlier. In that meeting, Netanyahu convinced the American President that the Islamic Republic had never been more ripe for a takeover; just a quick but robust little bombing would get the job done.

The Israeli Prime Minister wasn't entirely wrong. Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was dead before the end of the day, taken out by Israeli airstrikes, and Trump spent the remainder of the evening strutting through Mar-a-Lago like a rooster.

It was the first and last tangible victory he would see in this clusterf-ck of a war he's now 6 months and neck deep in.

As such, it seems to be the only thing he's got left in his pocket to brag about, considering we are now half a year into a war Trump never should have gotten into and clearly can't get out of, despite assuring anyone with a functioning ear or eyeball that this conflict would only last a couple of weeks. The United States is in an economic freefall; Iran maintains a stranglehold on the vital Strait of Hormuz, no matter how many times Trump tries to manifest a victory into existence by declaring that the US "totally" controls the waterway; America has all but exhausted its long-range precision missile supply, and while Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is certainly dead, his son Mojtaba Khamenei is certainly not, and he has made a meal out of identifying as a whole entire problem for Donald Trump throughout this war.

Nevertheless, with nothing else to pat himself on the back for, Trump took to his echo chamber to take a jab at his predecessor and warmongering twin George W. Bush with an AI slop photo depicting himself standing over two signs. On the left is George W. Bush's floating head, flanked by a sign that reads "Mission Not Accomplished 2001-2021." On the right, the elder Khamenei's floating head is flanked by a sign that reads "Mission Accomplished 2026."

Two things here: Trump has a long-running history of launching weird attacks like this against people he's intimidated by, people he secretly thinks have done a better job than him when he's lying awake at night. His AI nonsense seems to be harking back to one of Bush's most infamous moments, when he stood aboard an aircraft carrier in 2003 with a banner behind him reading, "Mission Accomplished" as he told the world that major combat operations were over, at a time when insurgency in Iran was beginning to grow teeth. We wouldn't get our asses out for another 23 years after that moment. If George W. Bush is his North Star when it comes to war with Iran, God help us all.

Secondly, Trump justified this war in the first place by declaring that his mission was the obliteration of Iran's nuclear program, something that has decidedly not been accomplished yet.

This is now the nth time that Donald Trump has declared some victory or another, even though we remain up to our eyeballs in a war we never should've gotten into in the first place, with absolutely no end in sight.
