It’s easy to laugh at this latest childishness from President Cry Baby. But there’s nothing funny about how much power he and his lickspittles are willing to exert to satisfy his petty whims.

As we have previously reported, Donald Trump threw a temper tantrum after Trump DOJ attorney Jeanine Pirro admitted in court that the felony prosecution against ex-Olympian David Hearn was – well, total BS. Even worse for Trump’s widdle fee-fees, she admitted that damage after Trump’s “renovation” of the Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial was done by was caused by his own, no-bid contractor, not vandalism.

Last week, Trump demanded Pirro “revisit” the dropped charges in yet another of his unhinged social media posts.

On Tuesday, “White House officials” formally asked the Department of Justice, now permanently helmed by Trump Puppet Todd Blanche, to do exactly that, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The Journal makes it pretty clear no new prosecution against Hearn will go anywhere. But, not surprisingly, Blanche and his lackeys are reportedly “exploring whether another type of case—likely based on misdemeanor allegations—is even possible. The discussions have been informal and preliminary, the people said.”

No halfway decent president, attorney general, or Department of Justice would be exploring anything about this “case” other than how to deal with a threatened lawsuit from Hearn. Instead, Trump and Blanche are at least willing to consider charging a man known to be innocent for the sake of making Trump look and feel better.

A new prosecution “would be highly unusual,” The Journal noted, “especially after Pirro told a judge in surprising detail that the government’s decision to indict him on a felony charge was ill-informed.”

Oh, and also, there is to be a hearing next month in which the presiding judge in the felony case is to decide whether the charges should be dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning they can’t be brought again.

It’s pretty darned clear that new charges against Hearn will not benefit anyone except, maybe his lawsuit against the Trump administration. Hearn’s co-counsel, Norm Eisen, told The Journal, that a new prosecution “would mark a shocking first: Bringing back from the dead a case that the DOJ lost by its own admission that it lacked the evidence to convict. This would add another bizarre turn to a sad chapter in the DOJ’s history—and further harass an innocent man.”
