Smack dab in the middle of a scandal about how he has screwed his troops on the USS Lincoln and dangerously depleted our weapons supply, Pete “WhiskeyLeaks” Hegseth apparently thinks it’s a great time to start stumping for president or some other public office.

The Washington Post reported that the defense secretary was traveling to Iowa in his “personal capacity” on Monday, “further fueling speculation that the former Fox News personality is mulling a run for president at some point … or some other political office after his time in the Trump administration is over.”

We can understand why Hegseth might think it’s time to look for a new job. Besides his terrible mismanagement of the military, his grift, and record of excessive drinking, there’s his bizarre fixation on testosterone levels, his love for war crimes and his vendetta against Senator Mark Kelly for urging troops to follow the Constitution and U.S. law.

Hegseth is unqualified and unfit to serve in his current job. If Democrats run even a halfway competent candidate to oppose him for any office, I predict he’ll finally get the public humiliation he deserves.
