A terse statement from Fox News Media offered no explanation for Maria Bartiromo’s sudden exit. “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media,” it said. “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

“The sudden exit of Bartiromo is reminiscent of Fox News’ surprise ouster of primetime host Tucker Carlson, whose exit also emerged out of left field,” The Hollywood Reporter noted.

The Reporter also found that Bartiromo had been absent from Fox airwaves since early August.

Her Fox Business show will now have rotating hosts. Jason Chaffetz will temporarily take over her Sunday Fox News show “with a new host to be announced,” The Reporter said.

So, clearly, Fox did not have a plan in advance for her departure.

Although I do not think she left in order to take a job with her beloved Donald Trump, it is possible she will find one in his administration now.

Meanwhile, good riddance!

Usually reporters get leaks FROM the White House -- but at Fox News, a reporter appears to have leaked TO the White House.
