Wisconsin Democrats win a trifecta for the first time in 16 years and flipped two congressional seats too.

Wisconsin was far from immune to the Bluenami that swept the country. Wisconsin Democrats enjoyed an evening that most state parties could only dream of having. They won every statewide office, flipped both houses of the legislature, and, as if that wasn't enough, flipped two congressional seats.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley defeated Trump-endorsed Rep. Tom Tiffany to become the next governor of Wisconsin, a pretty amazing feat for someone who dropped out of the race weeks before the primary election in August.

Along with Crowley, the Democrats won every other statewide seat, including regaining one they lost in 2022.

But wait, there's more!

The Democrats also managed to flip both houses of the state legislature for the trifecta, a feat they hadn't accomplished for 16 years.

And to put icing on the cake, Rebecca Cooke coasted past Drunken Van Orden, who is probably still crying into his beer somewhere. And she did this despite former President Musk dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars on the race. He must have forgotten what happened the last time he tried to buy an election in Wisconsin. He blew over $20 million and didn't even get a T-shirt.

In addition to all of this, Mitchell Berman squeaked past Bryan Steil by three points to flip that seat.

Oh, sure, it wasn't a perfect night. Thanks to his father-in-law, Sean Duffy, Michael Alfonso won his race to become the youngest member of Congress. Adding to our shame, Glenn Grothman won reelection.

But I do take solace in the thought that with the Democrats flipping the US Senate, Ron Johnson loses his bully pulpit to spout his conspiracy theories. I would not be surprised if he announces in the near future that he won't run again in 2028.

But there isn't much time for Wisconsinites to relax. There is another election for a state supreme court seat which could give them a liberal majority of six to one.
